The DI tunes also do not smoke as much as the Evo did.Īs for tunes, I have high idle, stock, tow, dd, hp, even more hp. In the hot tune I can get a lame 2-wheel peel in my dually. The tunes also behave more stock-like at light throttle which retains drivability when negotiating rough terrain (ie not sounding like the d-bag romping on the engine), but when you put the hammer down (past about 1/2 throttle I'd guess), all the power is there. The 94-97 7.3L Economy Power Combo is for a truck with no current modifications. I haven't run anybody else's tunes to compare DI to, but they are a far sight better than a canned Edge. The hydra chip is the most advanced plug in performance chip to date for the 7.3 Powerstroke. The 7.3 is shift on the fly capable unlike the newer trucks today. I just put this chip in my 99 F350, and I cant believe the difference it makes! Prior to putting it in, I had to push the gas pedal down at least 3/4 of the way or more to get the turbo needle to even budge and get ANY get up and go. Now I barely touch the pedal and it takes off like a rocket. (And that's in the fuel sipper tune!) My turbo also puts out more than twice the boost than it ever has since I've had the truck, and it jumps up instantly like its constantly spooled up and holding pressure just waiting for me to let it loose. I havent yet driven it enough to see what type of mileage I'm getting, but from how slow the needle is moving, it appears I'm getting quite a bit better than the 14 I was getting prior to putting in the chip.
